Wed. hw. satire
This article is very sarcastic and pretty much making fun of the people that believe science shouldn't be taught in schools, which makes it humorous. For example, it talks about how we shouldn't teach our children to ask questions, just teach them what they need to know to be a farmer, coal miner, or mill worker. And saying a good citizen never asks questions or tries to get themselves to excel in their knowledge. Also, it says that the people should only care what they've always believed in, and not in the facts that we are discovering are true. Which is meaning that we are pretty stupid to not want to learn, ask questions, and figure out what is really true in this world. Finally, it's acting sarcastic by saying religion has never done any evil things. Which it has, like the "witch" burning for instance. All in all, this article is sarcastic and makes fun of pretty much the whole human race and how most of us think, making it humorous and an example of a satire.
